Dr. Brown is a Professor of Nursing and director of the Education and Training Unit of the Center for Outcomes Effectiveness Research and Education (COERE). She has served on the AHRQ Back Pain Guidelines Panel and is the principal investigator on several projects utilizing community-based programs for managing chronic diseases. Dr. Brown has been an invited expert by AHRQ to a consensus conference entitled "Outcomes and Effectiveness Research for Musculoskeletal Conditions: Accomplishments and Future Directions". Dr. Brown will bring her unique perspectives and experience developing guidelines to the UAB CERTS project team. Dr. Brown works with Dr. Michael Weaver in developing the project Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) Medical Guideline Adherence and Outcomes and assists the CERTs in educational and training programs, such as the NSAID Patient Safety and Education project.

Current Projects:
Dr. Brown will serve on the Executive Committee and bring her unique perspectives and experience developing guidelines to the CERT project team. She will assist Drs. Allison and Casebeer in educational and training programs, particularly those that involve community-based interventions.
