Dr. Weissman is is a Professor in the Department of Health Services Administration and in the Division of Preventive Medicine UAB. Dr. Weissman is co-Director of the UAB Center for Outcomes and Effectiveness Research and Education and the Deep South Effectiveness Research Program at the Birmingham VA Medical Center. He holds UAB appointments as Senior Scientist at the Lister Hill Center for Health Policy, the Center for Nursing Research and the Center for Disaster Preparedness. Beyond the UAB CERTS, current research activities include key participation on several active Federal research grants focused on outcomes and education in cancer, myocardial infarction, and bioterroism. He is director of the Engalitcheff Arthritis Outcomes Initiative and serves on the UAB CERTS Executive Committee.

Current Projects:
Dr. Weissman has spent most of his career administering multidisciplinary health services research activities and will work with the PI on managing operations of the project, that integrate the CERT and its projects with the participating UAB Centers, the Advisory Committees, the CERT Coordinating Center and the funding and data sources.
